The Departed - Diptych, Original art, Landscape

Inspired by the landscape and the quiet beauty of nature, this diptych is also a deeply personal reflection on loss, love, and remembrance.

Created in memory of my mum, the painting features four birds on the horizon. Three remain together, while a solitary bird flies apart, symbolising a loved one who has departed but is never forgotten. Although rooted in my own experience of grief, this piece is intended to resonate with anyone who has experienced the loss of someone dear. It serves as a gentle tribute to those who remain forever present in our hearts and memories.
